Cyclone Nargis (Myanmar)

Dear beloved pupils,

Did you know that a cyclone hit Myanmar on 3rd May 2008? The May 3 disaster is the worst to hit South-East Asia since the 2004 tsunami which killed 220 000 people.


Below are some fast facts about Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar:
- a category storm with 3.5m waves 190km per hour winds
-death toll at 23 000 with 42 000 people missing
-more than one million people were made homeless
