Arthur's family vacation

Dear children,

Did you enjoy the story titled "Arthur's family vacation"?

The story: School's out! Arthur and his pal Buster are looking forward to plenty of thrills at Camp Meadowcroak this summer. Unfortunately, Arthur's parents have something different in mind: a family vacation. No amount of pleading can change their mind. They head for the beach and encounter the usual assortment of vacation pitfalls, including bad traffic, multiple potty stops, a subpar motel room, and, worst of all, rain. Luckily, Arthur and his little sister D.W. make a conscious effort to bolster everyone's attitude. They suggest plenty of ways to enjoy family time away from home, making the whole clan feel much better.

I hope you will continue to keep up the gooding reading habit found in you. There are many interesting books out there in the libraries.

Thank you.

I love all of you!

With lots of love,
Ms Lau

Mass borrowing on 27th March

Hello brilliant children,

The Tampines Regional Library and ESPS MRL Committee will be conducting the second mass borrowing of books for 2008 on Thursday (27 March). Thus, please remember to bring your library card on Thursday for the mass borrowing. Take note that you are not allow to borrow any notes if you have unpaid fines or have already borrowed the maximum number of books (4)allowed.

I strongly encourage everyone to take part in this mass borrowing. Do start off with simple books if you do not like reading. A simple start is better than none at all.

Children, I would also like all of you to introduce one book that you enjoyed reading very much so that we can try to get hold of the book and read it. Do type it under "Post your comments."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

About the book:
Princess Smartypants does not want to get married. She enjoys being a Ms. But being a rich and pretty princess means that all the princes want her to be their Mrs. Find out how Princess Smartypants fights to preserve her independence in this hilarious fairy-tale-with-a-difference.

Author: Babette Cole

I like this author's series of books. You can find her books in Tampines Library. You can ask the librarian to help you to look for her books, just write down the author's name and show it to the librarian.

***********************************************************************************

Please read through English Unit 5.
Please revise multiplication 2, 3, 4 and 5.

Thank you.

Drawing on egg shells 1

Dear beloved children,

How was the Art lesson yesterday? I hope you really enjoyed the fun of drawing on the egg shells. Some of you were so creative. You drew a happy face on one side and a sad face on the other side. That is so creative! There was this pupil, he drew a young face but when he turned the egg upside down, an old face is seen. That is so unique! But unfortunately, som of you had applied too much pressure while holding onto the eggs, thus causing your eggs to crack into pieces. But it is alright. You had fun in the process!

Below was some photographs taken during the lesson.

Lots of love,

Miss Lau

Easter Day is around the corner!

Hello children,

We will be having our art lessons on Thursday instead of Tuesday. What are we going to do? As Easter Day is around the corner, we are going to draw on the egg. Please make a small hole at the top of the egg and drain the egg out. Wash it clean and bring it to school. Please get an adult to help you with it.

Finally, here is a story titled, "Frogwart and the easter eggs".

Be thankful for the things you have

Dear precious children,

Did you remember what Mrs Ng say this morning? She said we must be thankful for the things we have. She also stated 5 things for which she is very thankful for.

Be Thankful

1. Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire. If you did, what would there be to look forward to?Be thankful when you don't know something, for it gives you the opportunity to learn.

2. Be thankful for your mistakes. They will teach you valuable lessons.Be thankful when you're tired and weary, because it means you've made a difference.

3. It's easy to be thankful for the good things.A life of rich fulfillment comes to those whoare also thankful for the setbacks.Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.Find a way to be thankful for your troubles, and they can become your blessings.

Do spend some time each day to count your blessings.

Love you,

Miss Lau
