Revision

Hi highly favoured and smart children,

Please do your daily revision. Make use of the Labour Day wisely and do your revision. Your files have been returned to you. Do look inside your files and go through ALL the practice papers and tests.

Revise your connectors too!

Do check through your exams papers over and over again for careless mistakes. Write clearly.

Do not bring English and Maths TBs to school from now on. Just bring your files to school.

Take note!

Dear highly favoured children,

Please take note of the following:

1) Always answer in a complete sentence.

2) Always remember to put a full-stop at the end of a sentence.

3) For questions on WHY, please answer straight to the point. Do not copy the question followed by because and the answer.

4) Names always start with capital letters. Make sure your capital letter and small letter are different!

5) For MLEA, use past tense. If you do not know how to spell a word, check through the main paper! The word that you need might just be found inside the main paper. Write short and simple sentences. Do the main paper first before doing MLEA.

When I feel sad

Dear highly favoured children,

Did you enjoy the book titled 'When I feel sad'?

Basically the story is about the times when someone would feel sad and how one can deal with it.

You can cry when you are sad, there is nothing wrong with it. Moreover, sadness does not stay with you for long and it can happen to anyone and everyone.

Remember, you can look for someone to talk to, write in your diary or draw when you are feeling sad.

Take note!

Dear highly favoured children,

I hope that you bear the following in your mind.

1) Always write number statements for your problem sums. Marks are awarded for it. Workings should be in the working column which is on the right of the paper.

Number statement should be written in a straight line! 23 + 34 = 57

2) Do not erase away the workings unless it is wrong. You should have workings even for MCQ and short-answer questions.

3) Read the questions carefully. Underline key words. Think carefully before you do it. Skip to the next question if you do not know how to do it but do circle the question number and come back to it after you have done with the rest.

4) Always check your work over and over again for careless mistakes. Open your eyes wide.

All the best for your Maths paper. All of you are CAPABLE OF ATTAINING FULL MARKS!

Saving - the sensible habit

Dear clever pupils,

Did you enjoy the performance put up by Act 3 this morning? I enjoyed watching the performance and I learnt from the performance. Did you learn anything from it?


Firstly, we need to save up for rainy days. We should not spend every single cent that we have.

Secondly, identify needs and wants.

Thirdly, we learnt to share our things with people. Remember Thrift offered his

bobo nuts to his friend when she had nothing to eat because she spent all her money

on buying sunglasses. That is all about someone having a big heart,

someone who is generous and willing to share things with

friends without any complains or grumbles or expecting any

rewards in return. We should all aim to be like Thrift.

I hope everyone in 2B will be like Thrift, being generous and kind to others without expecting a reward in return.

Arthur's teacher moves in

Dear precious beloved children,

Today we heard the story - 'Arthur's teacher moves in' which was borrowed by Jegan from the school library. I hope all of you enjoyed the story. Actually it was really a frightening experience for Arthur when Mr Ratburn moved in.

Description of the book:

Arthur is overcome with dread when he hears that his teacher is coming to stay at the Reads' house. But soon Arthur discovers that Mr. Ratburn wears casual clothes like everyone else, loves cartoons, and actually knows how to have fun. Arthur thinks his problems are over, until he gets an A on his next test and his friends call him a teacher's pet. In the end the joke's on them, as Arthur and Mr. Ratburn set the record straight once and for all.

Follow the leader by Marcus Pfister

Dear beloved children,

Did you enjoy the book - Follow the leader ?

Basically, this story is about Rosie who always wants to be the leader. Up until now, her friends haven’t minded. But then Angel moves to the Coral Reef. Suddenly everyone wants to follow Angel’s lead. Being too demanding may results in Rosie losing all her friends. But in the end, Rosie realises about her mistakes and she gives people a chance to be a leader.

I hope you learnt from this story that being too demanding will leave you with no friends. Always take turns!
